ARTIST STATEMENT
My artworks, including murals, paintings, and sculptures, reflect a desire to transform surfaces and architectural spaces into immersive visual narratives. Through the combination of different techniques, materials, and textural effects, I seek to create vibrant compositions that bring a sense of depth, movement, and presence.
Human figures often appear in my work, alongside animals that seem to interact with the abstract or geometric forms surrounding them. These elements create a dialogue between living forms and the architecture, materials, or surfaces on which they exist. Rather than imposing an image onto a surface, I adapt to the material itself, exploring the relationships between movement and structure, the organic and the constructed.
In my recent paintings, I investigate the perception of reality and illusion through split wooden panels and trompe-l’œil effects. Faces and organic textures emerge from fractured surfaces in a vibrant effervescence, transforming materials perceived as broken and inviting reflection on appearance, essence, and vitality. This spirit of experimentation guides my creative process, where ideas often begin in smaller works before evolving into larger-scale projects.
Collaboration also plays an important role in my practice. Whether creating murals, public artworks, large-scale sculptures, or snow and ice installations, I value the exchange of ideas and the collective energy that emerges when imagination, technical skill, and shared vision come together.
Whether working with paint, wood, snow, ice, or other materials, I approach each surface as a dynamic partner in the creative process. My work explores the tensions and connections between strength and fragility, permanence and ephemerality, movement and stability, seeking to reveal unexpected possibilities within both materials and spaces.
BIOGRAPHY
Murals and sculpture have been my favorite forms of artistic expression for over fifteen years, although I have been creating art in many different forms for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the rural region of Gaspésie, a French-speaking part of Canada, where my connection to nature and materials such as wood, snow, and ice developed from an early age. After studying visual art, then art history, interior design, and ecological construction, I ultimately returned to my first passion: visual art.
Driven by curiosity and a desire to discover different cultures and ways of living, I have traveled extensively throughout the world. These experiences continue to shape my artistic practice, inspiring a visual language influenced by nature, cultural encounters, movement, and imagination.
Over the years, I have created large-scale murals, sculptures, and installations, some reaching up to 4,000 square feet, while continuing to develop my personal artistic style through painting and drawing. I enjoy working both independently and collaboratively on ambitious creative projects. I am increasingly motivated by encounters with people, collective creative processes, and interactions with the public. Through the language of art, I aspire to help make shared living spaces more vibrant, playful, and engaging.
My work has led me to contribute to a variety of large-scale projects in Canada, the United States, and Europe, including snow and ice sculptures at the Ice Hotels of Quebec and Sweden, sculptures for public events and parades, immersive sculptural installations for Hasbro, and murals for commercial and recreational spaces.
Whether working on canvas, walls, wood, snow, ice, or textiles, I am continually inspired by the opportunity to transform materials and spaces into vibrant visual experiences.
